Life

Hi everyone (no one...lol)
Its been years since I've been on this blog. Life, lack of want to write, and the busyness of other crap in my life.
So life is crazy...but we all knew that.
But in the last week or so, I've had the want to get back to writing. Probably, because I have something to write about...

Short story: Husband and I have been dealing with infertility for 7+ years. We tried on our own for about 1 year. Then found a better GYN who listened to me. Went through 1 IUI with her after multiple clomid cycles. Referred over to Dr. Storment at Fertility Answers. Went through 3 IUI's with him. Got pregnant on #2, but miscarried at 4 weeks (we think). We found out at the 7 week ultra sound that there wasn't a heart beat. The thought is that it just stopped growing at around 4 weeks due to chromosome issues.
Then discovered I had stage 4 Endometriosis 3 weeks later...when I had to have emergency surgery to remove 2 ovarian cysts that had grown and taken a hold of my colon... Yeah, that was so much fun...
Couple months later, had to have a scheduled laparoscopy to remove a few more. That was last February... We tried IUI #3 that summer, no luck. (2017)
August: made the decision to try IVF in October. No luck, but it was because I didn't respond to the meds, so we stopped before we got farther than a week in. Which was easier to deal with than a nope.

So this Jan/Feb. we started again and were able to retrieve 4 eggs.
ONE made it to the bast stage on day 5.
One.
We had already decided to do a frozen transfer because we wanted to have this ray of hope checked by a genetics lab. Got the all clear from them and on April 10th we did the transfer. Next step: Pregnancy test on April 20. Those 10 days were tough waiting to find out if we were or not, but we are....! Then waiting for 4 days later to see if it is growing... Man, was day 3 rough. I was so mad at everything-I know now that I was preparing myself for bad news. But it did. It went from beta of 130 to 882. Which is great, since we needed to be near 500 range...

But now I wait for 2 more weeks to see if we have a heart beat. I've been busy, but my other stuff has died down, which is good. It gives me more time to catch up and finalize some documents and notes for the next person.... but I still have to wait...and wait...

And that was the short version...
Now that the world is all caught up on my personal life... I can move forward with my thoughts........

Wow...

Gee, 2013 already?
I am committed to remembering this year and not overloading myself like last year. I honestly do not remember Feb and March of last year. Really not sure what happened to them either.
I think I really love January though. Not the cold weather mind you, but the new beginning and re-birth. I guess Christmas is over, and for me that means the stress has passed and I have about 3 months until the next birthday in our collective families.
I also dis-involved myself from a lot of committees that I was involved in from last year. Man, I had major burnout in December. Some of it was the parties and functions, plus the annual Auction from the quilt guild. But, I think I'd just got involved in too many things. I loved them all and I think that was the hard part. Now, honestly? I probably could have continued with some of them. Alright, all of them. It wasn't the work. Hell, most didn't really have any. I think it was the meetings. There are only so many days in the month and when there is one the first Wednesday, first Thursday, second Thursday, Last Thursday. Plus tennis almost every Monday and then we practice on Wednesdays as well. I also had something that started in the fall that was mostly on Thursdays as well. Well, it just gets too much!
So.
Ok.
It sounds like I'm whining. Yeah, I guess I am. But with all the groups above, I never really created girlfriends with it. Yes, some became friends. But not girlfriends. I also was still trying to do my own projects in that time as well. In addition to this thing and then there's just plain life and housework/chores. Throw in one major renovation along with still no shed and small kitchen projects. whew.

Now?
For the year 2013, I'm not calling them resolutions, but Goals.
There are the standards that I've been carrying around for a while.
(No, I'm not talking about loosing weight and to stop cracking my knuckles-although those are true as well.)
I'm talking about taking Horse riding lessons and learning how to handle a weapon. (don't want one, just like to know how to use one) and a few others.
But for this year, the important ones fit on a sticky note:

Wake up Earlier
Focus on Home projects
Focus on My projects
Be a better person
Be a better wife, daughter, and sister.

Yep, that's it. I still have all 4 groups that I belong to, but I come first.
Now, that first one-[Wake up earlier]-it would probably solve most of my other problems. Of course, that means going to bed earlier. I'm getting there. It's been cold here...lol
If I get up earlier, I have more daylight, I have more time to do things, I wake up refreshed and want to do those things.
Anyway, that's what I had to say for now. Hope to post more before I loose February this year...

Whew!

So it's been a little busy around here...
The QGA auction is finally over, so I can relax a little. I had my Tennis team party today, and that was fun. Rosie has a beautiful home...
It's gotten colder here, I don't have the official, but we were supposed to hit 34 last night...
I mailed out the Christmas cards on Monday after dropping Jason off at the airport. This time it's Wyoming. I know, right? I mean, wth? I didn't even  know his company even had a job up there, but oh well. I guess, I really wish I could have gone with him. Not for the cold or even the snow, but to see the graves of my grandparents and even a couple greats. Of course, he's also only 6 hours from a close girlfriend of mine....who just had her 4th baby boy!
So life has been busy. So busy in fact, that I'm going to blow off my KSQG Christmas party tomorrow. I'm just too tired-it's also an hour away...
So the auction is over and now I have to focus on presents. The good news in me skipping the party tomorrow is that I hope to get a bunch of pc work done as well as some phone calls. We'll see.
I also recently found a neat site called Meetups-It's local and I'm hoping to find a bunch of new friends there.
Anyway, I've been on here too long again, so I'll leave you all with pictures...
Yes, this is Cozumel from June of this year....!

I needed proof that we were in a 4x4 off roader. I love my hair!
At the beach! If you look close, you can see the reflections in our glasses!
The ruins on the mainland. Tulum? I think I spelled that right?
Ok, we couldn't really do pictures here, as we were repelling down the side of the tower...
It was great!
 Festival International de Louisiane
Working the Crepes a la Cart booth!

 Oh yeah...
Just look at that ocean! Well, hubby's not bad lookin either...
:0)

Yay!
And just in case-Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Busy, Busy, Busy

So, I've been rather busy this past week, not that my house has anything to say about that...
Nope, it was all done on this contraption we call a computer. Monday when I got up, Tuesday when I got up, Wednesday after Tennis. Thursday was guild all day, so I only got to check my email. Friday when I got up, Saturday when I got up.
Now, you ask, what was I doing and did I get a lot done? I was working on the Guild blog and posting my examples on my blog as the last 4 post show. Did I get a lot done? Not really. Well, that's not completely true--yesterday, I completed the Guild Blog. I created a new site for the pictures using Shutterfly. I found out about that through another guild blog I found. That is really neat too. Click Here for that. And I learned GOBS of stuff through other blogs and trail and error about blogs. I made a button for others to use on there blog-i.e. I sorta learned how to code...lol

Now, this week I'm hoping that since Jason is home for 3 days of vacation we will do something in the bathroom, but that's looking rough since he pulled/strained a muscle in his upper back. dork.
Today, we are going to go see about my car and if I really need two new tires. Then run some errands: Office Depot, Super 1, Alberstons.
Mom's coming at 6 and we have tickets for the Heymann Center "Pride and Prejudice". I really hope its good.

I have tennis tomorrow morning, but not sure how that's going to go. I was off my game on Wednesday, so I hope I don't screw up tomorrow.
This Friday, Mom, Ching, Letia, and I are going to the Houston Quilt Show-well, we leave Friday and go to Laporte then Saturday, we'll go to the show and then come home that night. Yep, I'm driving-hence the tire & breaks check. Well, we still have to get a hotel room, but hoping to use Jason's points.

I'm also hoping to complete one if not two projects before the trip. The first is what I'm calling a travel companion. I hope to take pictures and do a real post. The other is a Shower Pocket by Never Done Project. I have to visit the quilt shop for the special fabric, but I wont need much. I'll probably still put this one in a Ziploc bag, so I can leave my soap in the pocket.

Well, Jason's out of the shower now, so I guess I'll pay some bills and figure out the problem I just found on my travel companion pattern...
Later gators,
Danielle

WOW

So, you're not going to believe this, but Google won this one. Totally didn't see that coming.
When I select the link, it brings you (separate page a must) to the Google Drive site. However, its very downplayed and for the most part (like Google) is simple and user friendly.
Literally: wooowww.
1. Easy view of the title
2. There is a search button (circled in red on right). Supposedly, you can search for anything in the doc.
3. Thumbnails on the left side for easy scrolling...
4. A PRINT button!!!

Now, the one thing Sky has that Drive doesn't. A 'Download' button directly on the page. I know, weird, right? Well I found it under the 'File' dropdown menu (below). I even clicked it and chose 'open' and it worked smoothly (as expected).

So....ding, ding, ding....we have a winner!
Thank the Lord, because I'm tired of this...
Now to go straighten out the guild's site and create a google drive for them..
Danielle

Yay!!!!

So I did it!!!! yay!!!!
So now what? Well, I'm not excited about the way skydrive displays the pdf inside their web page. I don't care that their stuff is at the top as a header, that's to be expected. I'm not totally happy with the properties displayed on the sidebar. No one needs to know who posted it and so forth.

Or when it was posted, or modified or the path or any of that junk on the right side of the page.
Now, I did just find the Download button at the top left of the screen. But, there is no clear print button, or search (not that you might need that).

So?
I'm now going to try Google's Drive. As I said earlier, I already had the account, so logging in was easy.
Here we go again...
Quilters' Guild Acadienne Newsletter August 2012

Mind you the end result of all this is to make my blogging on the guild's site enormously easier... hope*

So, I have blogger (google), Drive (google), Skydrive (microsoft), Email (Yahoo), Flicker (Yahoo), (soon to have smartphone-windows) as well as the guild's blog in blogger (google). And unless I want the guild's blog always linking back to mine (no), I will also have to set up one of the drives for downloading stuff...omg. Of course that is what all the posts today are about. Finding the best choice for the Guild.
Then I found a really nice guild blog from Canada that has given me some really good ideas for ours...
Anyway, back to the focus: post so I can check out the link...lol
Danielle

***************
Update: I will be moving the link of this blog to the new Guild Google Drive, since I will be deleting the newsletters off my drive.. don't need them both...
Danielle

So here goes nothing...

Hi all...lol
So I'm going to post two pdf documents that I uploaded to my skydrive. I am going to use both the "Public" and "View" link to test it out and see what is actually 'see-able'. In other words, the minute I'm done with this post, I will log out of both blogger and skydrive and search the internet for the pdf (which is just my guild's newsletter) that is Public. What I think the difference is, is View is for a link you place in a post and then anyone who views your post and clicks on the link will be directed to the pdf. Public is as if I just posted the pdf to the internet, I think...
So here goes nothing...

QGA Newsletter for October 2012 is the Public one. View only.

QGA Newsletter for September 2012 is the View only.

And they're off!

hehe...
Danielle
:0)

Update: removing the public link and making view only. I didn't see any difference and I wasn't able to search for it anyway...lol oh well.
